The story behind the piece
The Mosque Flower
The Floral Ring began with the interior of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque — with the floral inlay set into its white marble.
In that inlay a stylized flower opens in six petals around a small raised centre: warm ochre stone for the petals, deep green stems and leaves beside it, and small accent blooms in blue and red nearby.
ATH’R carried that flower into silver. The ring keeps the same six-petal form and the same raised centre, translating a marble inlay into a handcrafted piece worn on the hand.
The piece belongs to the Architecture Collection, where ATH’R’s designs take their forms from the UAE’s buildings, landmarks and their interiors.

Desert Flower Ring
A five-petal silver flower inspired by the UAE’s national flower, Tribulus omanense.

The story behind the piece
The UAE’s National Flower
The Desert Flower Ring began with the national flower of the United Arab Emirates: Tribulus omanense, known in the Emirates as the Al Samer flower. It is a small, low-growing plant that hugs the sand, and it opens bright yellow blooms of five petals arranged in a clean star.
The flower was chosen as a national symbol because of the way it lives. It grows in sandy soil, rocky plains and the edges of oases, tolerating heat, drought and thin ground, and it flowers through the cooler winter months when the desert plains turn yellow with it.
In Emirati memory the flower carried uses beyond its appearance. It appeared in garlands and celebrations, and desert families knew it as a plant of practical value — for remedies, and for the yellow colour its petals gave to fabric.
ATH’R translates that small five-petal star into silver. The ring keeps the flower’s radial form and its five open petals, so a piece worn on the hand carries the same idea the flower carries: beauty that survives, and continues, in difficult ground.
